The business was originally founded as Lenders Foods in the 1960's to grow and supply mushrooms and then in the early 1970's progressed into growing beansprouts, which we still do today at our 2nd site.

The company began supplying Multiples in 1977 and launched the UK’s first fresh Stir Fry Kit in 1979.

The original factory was built in 1989, with further investment in the factory later on to include a Sauce and Cooking Plant.  In early 1997 the company began supplying Prepared Potatoe Products to retailers.

Towards the end of 1999 Perkins Foods bought Lenders Foods to add to its large portfolio of food suppliers, and the company became Simply Fresh Foods.

In October 2004 the current management team bought out Simply Fresh Foods and expanded our product range.  In 2005 we began supplying Prepared Bagged Vegetables to major retailers.

On Christmas Day 2006 the original factory burned down and the fire destroyed everything, including all manufacturing capabilities.  Within 4 weeks the company moved to a temporary factory in Warrington and commenced supply as building on a New State of the Art Factory began.

The new factory was completed in June 2008 as well as refurbishment work on our 2nd growing and cooking site.  Production at the new factory began in July 2008.
